Adv. Bhavna Bajaj nominated as Executive Member of BJP Delhi Pradesh


Advocate Bhavana Bajaj has been nominated as the Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi Pradesh. She has an illustrious and diverse experience spanning across working as a lawyer and working with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Ms Bajaj has excellent knowledge in Human Right Laws and women related issues. She provides advice to organizations and influences stakeholders for Women & Child right issues. This was best represented in her recent stint with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPC), where she worked in the capacity of a Consultant - Juvenile Justice. Previously working with the NHRC as an Empaneled Consultant, she facilitated direction to multiple cross-functional authorities to ensure fast resolution of the human rights cases.

An avid Children and Women Rights Social Activist, Ms Bajaj runs numerous programs under her NGO, 'Social Umbrella'. Furthermore, she has spearheaded hygiene programs at ground level during the current Covid-19 pandemic. She is also currently associated as a Program Director for Human Rights Defence International (HRDI) as well as Gram Vikas Foundation of India (GVFI). Lastly, her social work extends to environmental issues as well. She recently authored a complaint to NHRC related to this issue and impact to the wider society.

Court orders attachment of PSPCL XEN’s salary for denial of connection to MM Builders

Mohali (SAS Nagar):  In what deals a severe blow to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to improve the ease of doing business and anti-corruption drive in the state, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) is not releasing electricity connection to a commercial entity notwithstanding the directions of the court. The permanent Lok Adalat of SAS Nagar on May 20, 2022, had directed the PSPCL to release the electricity connection to M/s MM Builders, which runs Sky Jumper in  Oxford Street , Zirakpur owned by S M Hotel. The court also ordered the attachment of salary of HS Oberai, XEN, Zirakpur Division, and PSPCL. The court has termed the action of PSPCL as contempt of the orders of the Permanent Lok Adalat.
