Steephan Varghese Sony makes a record in identifying maximum species of dinosaurs


New Delhi: The record for identifying the maximum number of species of dinosaurs was set by Steephan Varghese Sony from Alappuzha, Kerala. Steephan who now lives in Abu Dhabi (UAE), identified the pictures of 119 dinosaurs, with their correct names, within 5 minutes and 29 seconds, at an young age of 5 years, 5 months and 13 days, as confirmed on December 12, 2020 by the India Book of Records.

Steephan (born on June 29, 2015) is titled as ‘Grand Master’ for identifying the maximum number of species of dinosaurs. He was keenly interested in animals since childhood and was fond of watching dinosaur fossils videos on YouTube. He also liked to collect dinosaur toys at his home.

Everybody was surprised when his record was approved by the India Book of Records (IBR) and the Asia Book of Records (ABR). His teachers and friends were not aware of his interest in dinosaurs. Therefore, they could not believe when they were told about Steephan’s achievement.

When asked what kind of challenge he faced while creating the record, he said, “The biggest challenge was to collect the pictures of 119 types of dinosaurs from Google and various books. Steephan’s parents are working in same company of Al Inmaa Drug Store in Abu Dhabi. The company also honoured Steephan by giving him a special gift for this achievement. His parents say that people should identify the talent of their children by closely observing their day to day activities. BlogsWire
